My Approach

Transparent, Culturally Grounded Care

Therapy is a true partnership where your voice leads the way. I keep everything clear and open so you always know what we are working on and why. I focus on teaching you about your experiences and emotions to help you feel strong and in control. Together we develop skills that support you in handling stress, emotions, and relationships. I bring a trauma-informed and culturally aware perspective that respects your story and the strengths you carry.

Common Interventions and Modalities I Use

I draw from a range of approaches tailored to your needs. Dialectical Behavior Therapy helps build skills in emotional regulation, mindfulness, and healthy relationships. Play Therapy offers creative and gentle ways to process difficult feelings, especially for children and teens. Psychoeducation is central — I believe understanding your experience is key to healing. Everything I do is trauma-informed and culturally responsive, designed to meet you where you are and support your growth

My Experience and Background

My experience includes working with individuals facing intense emotional pain, including suicidal thoughts, and providing tools, support, and safety planning in a compassionate and non-judgmental space. I have worked in community mental health, schools, crisis response, multi-disciplinary teams, juvenile halls, clinics, and advocacy programs supporting survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and will be a certified Play Therapist in August 2025. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and cultural responsiveness. I have supported adolescents and adults through emotional regulation, crisis intervention, and skill development, always centering safety, collaboration, and empowerment.

A Teen Client’s Poem

It’s always true
you learn something new
when you’re with Jess
she’s the best

Talk and talk some more
she’s never a bore
When you end up crying on the phone
you’re not alone

She cares and cares to your heart’s content
it’s like she’s sent from a cloud
where she looks down over you

Unlike the sky you’re never blue
When you cry she’ll help you through it
You’ll wish you knew it

She’s kinder than she’ll admit
Something you will never acquit
You’ll never guess

yes
It’s Jess”

Adult Client

“I cannot recommend Jessica highly enough. Working with her was truly life changing. From the very beginning, she made me feel seen, heard, and completely supported. What makes her stand out is her genuine connection with her clients. You never feel like ‘just another appointment’ — you look forward to seeing her.

I came to her during one of the lowest points in my life. With her consistent support and guidance, I worked through my struggles and came out the other side stronger. She gave me the tools I needed not only to cope but to grow, helping me prioritize my mental health, set boundaries, and develop habits for long-term well-being.

If you are looking for a therapist who will invest in your growth and walk alongside you with empathy and care, Jessica is the one. I am grateful for everything she has done for me.”
